Deep Sea D-Blue

The pioneering spirit of Rolex was reflected in 1945 with the launch of the Datejust. It was the first automatic, waterproof wristwatch to display the date at 3 o’clock on the dial. This innovation gave the name to  this iconic piece. Later in 1945, the cyclops lens was added and the mechanism of the date was improved.

Description

The Rolex Deep-Sea D-Blue is part of the ultra-resistant divers models. Its development is part of many years of collaboration with professionals in the diving field. This piece carries a “Ringlock System” which is a feature that allows the crystal to withstand impressive pressure. In order to be able to develop this technology, Rolex used  aerospace type materials such as nitrogen-alloyed steel and grade 5 titanium.
